Signum Regis Recharges History with “The Eyes of Power” –  A Bold Remake Packed with Fresh Sound and Epic Vision

Signum Regis breathes new life into their standout album The Eyes of Power, recorded with Göran Edman (ex-Yngwie Malmsteen). Hailed as one of Edman’s heaviest works, this release fuses a unique historical concept with oriental and neoclassical songwriting, reflecting the band’s fearless ambition. Featuring re-recorded guitars, updated bass, a crisp modern mix and mastering by guitarist Filip Koluš, and stunning new artwork by Uwe Jarling, the album feels reborn—perfect for fans of epic concept metal, Symphony X, and ancient history enthusiasts alike.

Ronnie’s comment about the release:

“The Eyes Of Power” is our second album that we recorded with Göran Edman (ex-Yngwie Malmsteen). I think it is also the heaviest album that Göran has ever recorded. What’s so interesting about the album is a combination of a unique historical concept, the oriental and neoclassical approach to the songwriting and the fire in the belly that we had while recording it. We were ambitious and fearless with this one. We did some really crazy stuff there. Like the super fast song “Dura Europos” or the epic instrumental song “The Underground Temples Of Mithras“.

The only thing that we were regretting over the years was the production. Now, when we had the opportunity to release this album again, we saw it as a unique chance to fix everything that we wanted to. Filip Koluš (guitarist) ended up re-recording all rhythm guitars with a better, modern sound. I re-recorded bass in 2 tracks and of course, we mixed it anew. I think Filip did a fantastic job with the mix and now this album sounds very fresh, like something we did just the other week. Uwe Jarling’s new artwork is the cherry on top, highlighting the dynamic and heroic essence of the storyline while elevating the album and band’s aesthetics to a fresh, modern level.

In my estimation, this album is tailor made for fans of historic concept metal albums, for fans of Signum Regis obviously, but I think it has a lot to offer to fans of bands like Symphony X or Yngwie Malmsteen. If you are an ancient history nerd, you will love the lyrics and the booklet. It’s very special. I don’t think you will find anything like it.

Major announcement – line-up change

Jota Fortinho, who has been with the band since 2019, has decided to leave Signum Regis for various personal reasons. This was both sad and surprising news for us, but his decision is understandable. We remain in touch as friends and may collaborate again on an occasional basis. 

We’d like to thank Jota for everything he has contributed to the band and the legacy he leaves behind. On the albums he recorded – Undivided, The Seal of a New World, and Flag of Hope – you’ll find some of the highlights of our catalog, and we’re proud of what we achieved together. We wish him all the best in his future endeavors!

So, what’s next? We have a song called “Never Surrender,” and that’s exactly what we’ll do! We’re sticking to our guns, and Signum Regis will carry on. You can expect some truly exciting news in the coming weeks and months. The plans are already in place, and we’re working hard to make them happen. Stay tuned!

Signum Regis is releasing a cover of Metallica‘s “All Nightmare Long“. It’s not a typical cover, but rather a reimagined version by Signum Regis for the modern metal listener. It diverges from the original by condensing its intensity into a more concise and dynamic format. With a reimagined structure and arrangements, this version offers something unique while still honoring the spirit of the original. The band’s intent is not to compete with Metallica‘s brilliance, but to celebrate their legacy through our own artistic interpretation.

SIGNUM REGIS RELEASES NEW SINGLE “NO MIDDLE GROUND”

The melodic power metal band SIGNUM REGIS just released their new single “No Middle Ground“. The single is mixed and mastered by Jacob Hansen (Volbeat, Kamelot, Evergrey) and it’s available on all digital platforms.

Ronnie König of Signum Regis comments on the new single:

“‘No Middle Ground’ is a song we recorded during the “Undivided” sessions. It has a slightly different vibe compared to the other “Undivided” songs, so we decided to release it as a dedicated single. This song is for fans of classic metal in the style of Judas Priest or Accept, featuring some fine riffing and sing-along parts. I think it sounds great and I hope you will enjoy it!!“

The new Signum Regis album “Undivided” was released on CD, limited vinyl editions and digital on November 17th via Ulterium Records. “Undivided” have received excellent feedback from media and fans around the world and most agree that this is the strongest release from the band so far. The album was awarded “album of the month” in Rock Hard France, got an impressive 10/10 review in Powerplay Magazine UK, 5,5/6 in Spark Rock Magazine CZ, 9/10 in Metalized Magazine DK, 9/10 in Hardline Magazine DE to name a few.

However, most of the time, you will find guitar solo covers or drum covers played by an individual. Our cover is very unique, because we did it as a real band. From the legendary guitar solo, through the vocals and amazing audio production by Jacob Hansen to a real music video, we are bringing the full experience. We did our very best and honoured this classic the way it deserves.”
